The 10 secret methods to crack hard interviews

How many of you have got the feeling of sweaty palms when walking or sitting for an interview? If not for that table in between, your interviewer may have also seen and heard the clanging of your knee caps. With such a fear gripping you, it is only natural that the interview would not go as planned. You may fumble on the silliest questions. The simplest of questions about your career goals may just leave you dumb-struck. There are a lot of people who seek psychological treatment so that they can man up and face interviews. This article is only to say that there is no need to go for such expensive methods to tackle your fear of interviews. There are a few steps that have been mentioned below that would certainly help you in tackling interviews.

  1. Take control of the interview: - This is where most of the people fumble. Most people think the interviewers to be like man-eating tigers; they are out to devour you. This is a conception that must be tackled head on. You need to ensure that you can take control of the interview. Steer the interview in your direction. Take it to a zone in which you are comfortable tackling questions of that category.
  2. Make frequent jokes: - This is a method that can certainly liven and lighten the mood of the interview. You can make jokes pertaining to that industry, and for the clincher, you can make jokes about their rival company. In this way, you would most certainly take the icing of the cake by indulging your interviewer in such harmless banter. This is a huge ice breaker and should be used very often.
  3. Understand the mood of the interviewer: - When you enter the interview room, do not do so with a swagger. Take those precious seconds to find out the mood of the interviewer. This would go a long way to gauge the things you should say to them. In an interview, the people conducting the interview would look for your sense of responsibility; so don't come across as a carefree person.
  4. Highlight your positive aspects: - The interviewer does know about your positive aspects and would ask you about that. Come across as a person that inculcates those positive aspects in his or her life, and not something that you have accomplished after a long time. This would bring about a reflection in your personality, and you would be able to come across as a genuine person.

These steps should be inculcated in your repertoire and you would always come out smelling of roses at the end of the interview.
